Boat House Waterside Cafe opens in Glen Cove

The Boat House Waterside Cafe made its Glen Cove debut last month in the Brewers Yacht Yard site that used to house Hideaway. In addition to a dining room, the place offers outdoor patio seating with a nautical view.

The menu was devised by consulting chef Adam Goldgell, whose credentials include the former Hog House BBQ in Huntington Station and Panama Hatties in Huntington, as well as Sugo in Long Beach.

Breakfast, right now, is served only on weekends and features such dishes as a scallop and spinach Benedict ($16.95) and a Long Island seafood omelet ($14.95). At lunch, you can get a lobster roll ($17.95), a burger ($11.95) and a Boat House salad with shrimp, calamari and mussels ($12.95). Dinner might start with blackened mahi mahi tacos ($10.95) or oysters Rockefeller ($12.95), followed by such entrees as shrimp étouffée ($17.95) or beer-battered fluke ($14.95).
