Swingbellys Beachside BBQ, one of Newsday’s Top 10 barbecue spots, has renovated its dining room, tweaked its menu and entered into a partnership with Speakeasy, the nearby bar and grill.
Swingbellys owner, Mike Bonino, is still part of the team, but his former partner Sean Sullivan, who brought Swingbellys back after the devastation of superstorm Sandy, is no longer involved.
Jake Marlin, the chef at Speakeasy, is now also in charge of the Swingbellys kitchen. Manager Ryan Moroney said that the tweaked menu is still based on the smoker, but is “friendlier” to customers looking for lighter fare. The repainted dining room is now cozier with new booths. And Swingbellys is now open for lunch and dinner seven days a week.
Swingbellys is at 909 W Beech St., 516-431-3464, swingbellysbbq.com
