Chick-fil-A offers free chicken sandwich to customers who download new app
Looking for an excuse to visit Chick-fil-A in Port Jefferson Station? In conjunction with locations around the country, the restaurant will give away its signature sandwich, spicy chicken sandwich or grilled chicken sandwich — an offer worth $3.55 — to each customer who downloads its new app called Chick-fil-A One by June 11. The offer is redeemable through June 30.
Chick-fil-A One lets users order and pay ahead by phone and skip the line by offering a new online pickup designation at the counter. The app also offers a customized menu by retaining past orders and offers free food the more it’s used.
Potential users can get the app by downloading it through the Apple App Store, Google Play and by tweeting through an activation that was custom-built by Twitter for Chick-fil-A. From June 1 through Aug. 14, customers can Tweet #CFAOne with the horizontal cow emoji to receive a prompt to download the app from Twitter directly to their phones.
The app had been among the top downloaded at the iTunes app store over the weekend, Business Insider reported, with over a million downloads and counting. By Monday, it fell among the top 20 free downloads.
Earlier this year, Chick-fil-A offered free dessert through its chicken coop challenge, during which eat-in diners would deposit their cellphones into a box in the shape of a chicken coop for the entirety of their meal.
Chick-fil-A opened its first store in Atlanta in 1967. And even though the company’s fairly recent opposition to same-sex marriage has ruffled feathers, Chick-fil-A continues to grow — with plans to expand on Long Island, according to a spokesperson who nevertheless refrained from giving details about dates or locations.
