Chipotle to open in East Meadow

Long Island’s newest Chipotle Mexican Grill will open on Hempstead Turnpike in East Meadow Thursday, June 15, and the company is giving away some swag to celebrate.
The location, Long Island’s 23rd Chipotle, will open at 10:45 a.m., and the first 25 customers who purchase an entree will earn a free T-shirt, as well as a buy-one-get-one-free card for a subsequent visit.
Rachel Williams, a marketing strategist with Chipotle, said that the company began the process of establishing the East Meadow location about a year ago. The opening transforms what was once a boarded-up CVS Pharmacy into a 41-seat eatery with a patio.
Like other locations of the fast-casual Mexican chain, the East Meadow satellite will hold occasional fundraising events, donating a portion of proceeds to local nonprofits and organizations. The first of those is on Tuesday, June 20, from 5 to 9 p.m., when half of all sales will be set aside for the East Meadow Soccer Club.
