Authentic Sicilian cuisine was the hallmark of Sicilia Risturanti, which opened in Levittown two years ago. The restaurant, which received a two-and-a-half star rating in June of 2012, has closed.
Dishes that impressed were the convincingly Sicilian panelle, or fried chickpea fritters, the classic pasta con sarde (bucatini with sardines, fennel and pine nuts) as well as the moist baked swordfish with a raisin-olive-tomato topping.
Sicilia was at 2715 Hempstead Tpke., Levittown.
