Suffolk County now has a Dairy Queen to call its own. The new restaurant is in Huntington, on Jericho Turnpike about a half-mile west of Route 110.

Like Long Island’s two earlier Dairy Queens (in Levittown and Massapequa), the new one is a DQ Grill & Chill, the chain’s new format that debuted in 2001.

Grill & Chill locations go beyond soft-serve ice cream to offer table delivery and a hot food menu of burgers, chicken sandwiches, salads, stuffed-flour-tortilla “melts” and sides. For dessert, the full panoply of Dairy Queen cups, cones, sundaes, shakes and Blizzards is available.

DQ Grill & Chill is at 321 W. Jericho Tpke., Huntington, 631-824-6972.
