East Islip: Vinnie's Mulberry Street moves
If you’re pining for pasta at Vinnie’s Mulberry Street in East Islip, you won’t find any at the restaurant's old strip mall locale, which now sits vacant. But look across the road and about a block west and you'll find Vinnie's, which recently relocated to a new free-standing building.
In addition to expanding its physical space, the restaurant has also changed up its repertoire, adding dishes such as pork chops and filet mignon. I was sorry to hear, though, that a past favorite, penne with escarole and beans, didn't make the cut. But orrechiette with broccoli rabe and sausage did.
Incidentally, the restaurant is not affiliated with any of the myriad spots with the same name.
Vinnie’s Mulberry Street is at 42 W. Main St., East Islip, 631-277-9500, vinniesmulberrystreet.com
