The Chocolate Duck, Long Island’s premier confectionary-supply source, is holding a two-day cake-decorating workshop taught by Marina Sousa and James Roselle. The two accomplished pastry chefs are best known as frequent competitors (and sometime champions) on the Food Network shows “Cake Challenge” and “Last Cake Standing.”
During the workshop, entitled “Fashion cakes,” students will create sugar-studded stilettos, couture handbags and edible glittering jewels. Mediums will include pastillage, gumpaste, fondant, white chocolate, isomalt and royal icing.
The workshop meets on Oct. 17 and 18, from 3 to 8 p.m. The price is $750. For more information or to make a reservation contact the Chocolate Duck, 310 Main St., Farmingdale, 516-249-0887.
