Fine seafood + water view + alfresco = A Lure -- a terrific taste of summer.
A Lure is the much-anticipated restaurant that took over the Port of Egypt marina space also occupied for decades by The Seafood Barge in its various forms. It's a joint venture from ever-moving chef Tom Schaudel and restaurateur Adam Lovett, who also run A Mano in Mattituck.
The theme is seafood-and-chowder, well-played. Local ingredients are highlighted. Add that it occupies a waterfront perch, and you have the answer to the most-asked question around here. Basically, A Lure is the restaurant you've been looking for.
Enjoy the corn chowder or the gumbo; nibble on a salad of local beets and goat cheese; have a lobster roll or diver scallops; finish with Key lime pie, a plantain spring roll; or the trademark "chocolate bag," all served by an excellent staff.
Go soon.
