'End of the Summer' celebration
Is it that time already?
The summer of 2012, memorable for its new spots, hot temperatures and full-capacity parties is .?.?. almost over. Every year, those who make nightlife a priority cringe at the thought that the season is coming to a close — but as the month of August is at its halfway point, it seems like the inevitable is rapidly approaching.
Another sign is the arrival of the “End of the Season” bashes in The Hamptons — events that simultaneously herald and warn all those who have yet to venture out to take part in the action (or those who haven’t had their fill) that, for those venues closing after Labor Day, the last chances to do so are running out.
One of the first of these will be taking place at 44 Three Mile Harbor Rd. in East Hampton (the location of SL East) on Friday, Aug. 24. Starting at 10 p.m., the “End of the Season Celebration” event will feature a DJ all night plus live Latin and world music from the band Los Cintron. The evening will also be further enhanced by art, flamenco dancers and a silent auction (to benefit the Somaly Mam Foundation). Age of admission is 21 and tickets are $35 in advance, $45 at the door.
