'LOVE' is on the way
Earlier this month, the ownership of Sugar Dining Den and Social Club had commented on whether the venue would be returning, as the very-popular restaurant and nightclub (located at 246 Voice Rd. in Carle Place) had unexpectedly closed its doors in early July. At that time, co-owner Brian Rosenberg had described the closure as necessary for “refurbishment” — but added that there would also be some “big surprises.”
As it turns out, one of those “surprises” has been revealed: the name “Sugar” is no more.
Rosenberg, who had been — up until recently — keeping the future of his establishment a secret, announced yesterday (Wednesday, Aug. 21) that along with a complete makeover, the spot (that he co-owns with entrepreneur Randy Narod) is to be designated as “LOVE.”
When asked about the reasoning behind rebranding a venture that was apparently flourishing, Rosenberg said he believes it’s wrong to “hang on too long until you're not relevant,” adding he feels it’s always a good plan to “close with a packed room.”
The launch of the new venue is slated for mid-September, and while most other details of the transformation remain guarded — with announcements regarding DJs and live performances still yet to be made — when considering the management’s prior efforts concerning Sugar, LOVE is likely to open with much fanfare.
*LOVE will have its grand opening on Thursday, Sept. 26.
