Party in the park at The Carltun

Now that the summer of 2012 is truly in swing, those who enjoy a night on the town in Nassau County are likely to gravitate toward the places with open air areas, as many do every year. Whether a venue has a beer garden or a rooftop lounge, or is located near the water, any spot that can offer an outdoor party usually does quite well during the hotter months. However, very few can offer the scenery and solitude of a botanical setting – which just so happens to be an option with the new “On The Park Wednesdays” event happening weekly (starting June 20) at The Carltun in East Meadow.

Located deep within Eisenhower Park (on the Great Lawn, but there is an inside area as well), this soiree kicks off at 6 p.m. with a two-hour happy hour featuring half-priced drinks. DJs AMG and Matattack will be in place to spin a variety of beats, but live music is the centerpiece as the long-running cover band The Mystic is set to perform live after 8 p.m., and again at 10 p.m. (dinner reservations are available).
