Have you been asked to bring matzo balls for 10 to a Passover seder? Are you hosting a seder but worry all the cooking and baking will be too much?

Either way, there’s no need to pass over Passover (with the first seder on March 30). With so many markets and cafes offering takeout menus (which may include the ceremonial seder plate), you can order specific dishes or a complete meal.

If you’re planning to order takeout, it’s best to ask how strictly the kosher for Passover (with rabbinical supervision) and kosher rules are being followed. That way, you’ll be certain the dishes will meet the religious requirements of all your guests.

Here are some eateries where Passover packages are offered, along with highlights from each menu:

KOSHER THYME MARKETPLACE: The entire store is glatt kosher year-round.

1163 Old Country Rd., Plainview; 516-932-1331, kosherthymemarketplace.com

Basic package: $359.99 for 10 to 12 and will include seder plate contents if requested.

In addition to offering a wide variety of all the traditional, much-loved Passover foods (matzo ball soup, gefilte fish, chopped liver, brisket, chicken, kugels, tzimmes), Kosher Thyme Marketplace offers Chinese dishes for Passover, including Hawaiian chicken, beef with broccoli, and hot and sour soup. Even better, if you bring a favorite Passover family recipe to the store, the chef will prepare it for you.

EVERFRESH SUPERMARKET: The entire store is glatt kosher year-round.

33 Middle Neck Rd., Great Neck; 516-773-4600, everfreshsupermarket.com

Dinner for 12: Package A with chicken, $389; Package B with turkey, $419; Package C with chicken masala, $449: Package D with brisket, $479. All include gefilte fish, horseradish, chicken soup and contents of the seder plate.

As part of the traditional glatt kosher for Passover takeout menu, six different salmon dishes can be ordered in advance. You might want to try salmon with garlic and dill, teriyaki salmon, sweet chili or sriracha. There’s also a wide variety of chicken dishes, baby lamb chops, 19 different dips, kitniyot products and more.

ROSLYN KOSHER FOOD: Kosher and kosher for Passover.

1044 Willis Ave., Albertson; 516-621-9615, roslynkosher.com

Passover dinner: $379.99 for 10 to 12

All traditional kosher-for-Passover dishes are offered on the takeout menu, including chicken prepared four ways: chicken burgundy, stuffed glazed chicken breast with matzo-cranberry stuffing, onion-crusted chicken breast and rotisserie chicken.

ZAN’S KOSHER DELICATESSEN RESTAURANT & CATERER: Prepared in a kosher kitchen, but not kosher for Passover.

135 Alexander Ave., Lake Grove; 631-979-8770, zans-deli.com

Complete holiday dinner: $349 for 10

In addition to a traditional Passover takeout package, Zan’s is offering yet another way to have a seder “to go.” On March 30 at 6 p.m., a seder and Passover dinner will be hosted in the restaurant. For $45 a person, you’ll be served a four-course Passover meal with wine, and participate in a seder led by Rabbi David Altman.
