More mature patrons of the club scene are often on the watch for events that recall nightlife from years ago. From time to time, they'll find club “reunions,” where the regulars of now-shuttered hotspots meet somewhere else to reminisce -- but for this single night, those who remember the now-defunct Oz in West Hempstead will have a chance to party down on the floor they enjoyed in the 1990s and 2000s.
Today the space is often home to Tabu parties -- where hip-hop and other hot club music usually plays -- but some years ago (as Oz) it was a favorite for classic dance and freestyle. And come Wednesday, Nov. 23 (aka “Thanksgiving Eve,” considered by many to be second only to New Year’s Eve as a critical night to go out), the doors at 514 Hempstead Tpke. will open as Oz once more.
Expect a mature crowd, all of whom should dress to impress. Doors open at 9 p.m. with DJ Nicky G spinning freestyle and other retro beats -- cover is yet to be announced, but free admission is available to those who visit Facebook and print out the event flier (click here for flier).
