‘Sandbar Sundays’ at the Neptune Beach Club

It may be halfway through the summer of 2011, but some are still learning about the party that runs Sundays at the Neptune Beach Club in East Quogue. Called "Sandbar Sundays," it stands out against the usual very-young, often skimpily clothed other bashes held at this long-standing bastion of warm-weather fun for it invites those who made this a hang during their younger years back for more good times.

Although it is open to anyone 21-and-over, the focus is on a crowd aged 28+ -- with DJs playing popular sounds from the 70s, 80s and 90s -- that is, around the reggae bands that play live starting at 2 p.m.

And just in case you're one of the many who used to frequent the massive outside deck (and the beach behind it), no worries for that space is still there -- along with the food and drink specials -- but unlike many other previous visits to Neptune's, there is no cover (and parking is free...while it lasts).
