Von Trapp attends 'Sound of Music' at Engeman
A descendant of the Trapp family, Kristina von Trapp Frame (left), attended a performance of “The Sound of Music” at the John W. Engeman Theater at Northport last week.
Frame is the granddaughter of Maria and Capt. Georg von Trapp. The 1959 Broadway musical and 1965 movie were based on the memoirs of Maria von Trapp, “The Story of the Trapp Family Singers.”
Frame attended Sunday as an honorary guest for a benefit performance of “The Sound of Music” for a Solomon Islands school. She lives in Stowe, Vt., where she and her father and brother own and operate the Trapp Family Lodge established by her grandmother when the family settled in Vermont.
The show continues through Jan. 16- read Newday's review.
