'Wednesday Night Fever' at the Allegria Hotel

Adding to the world-class views from its Jacks on the Rocks rooftop lounge, the Allegria Hotel & Spa in Long Beach is featuring a Wednesday night party that focuses on club sounds born before 1989.

All sorts of beats will make the grade -- freestyle, disco, dance, new wave and more -- with a crowd that generally runs in the 30-to-45-year-old range.

There's no cover, with doors opening at 7 p.m., and a dress code of fashionable attire is requested (that means no athletic gear, tank tops, baseball hats -- with the doorman having final say on what is acceptable).

Of course, there are other parties during the week that feature such classic sounds, but with the sunset in the west, the ocean to the south, the lights of Long Beach below and the Manhattan skyline off in the distance, the scenery is one-of-a-kind – and the "Jacks" space has an indoor and outdoor area as well. But don't plan on any late-night dips, the swimming pool will be closed.

There's also valet available, so it won't be necessary to circle the blocks in search for a coveted area parking space on this occasion.
