Food trucks coming to Tanger, Riverhead

A small fleet of food trucks will be descending upon the Tanger Outlet Center in Riverhead this Saturday; find them in the parking lot of Tanger One from noon to 5 p. m. The event, part of Tanger’s “Great Taste, Great Style” home and garden weekend was organized by local food and wine magazine Edible East End, which is calling it the “Taste of the East End Food Truck Derby.”
Something of a misnomer, it seems, since most of the trucks will be coming from Manhattan. Still, there will be local participation from local beverage specialists Peconic Bay Winery, True Believer Cider (made by Peconic Bay Winery) and Hampton Coffee Company. Among food trucks will be Morris Grilled Cheese, serving a variety of grilled cheese sandwich combinations ($5-$10), Korilla BBQ, offering Korean tacos, burritos and bowls ($7-$8). Coolhaus will sell ice cream sandwich while Van Leeuwen Ice Cream will be scooping out cones and cups.
