Gabila knish update

So, I'm driving along Jericho Turnpike in Huntington Station this morning when suddenly, I spot a Gabila’s knish truck. Aha, I think; the square (fried) knishes are back on Long Island — this following a September fire at the company’s Copiague plant, which created a national shortage.
Immediately, I launch into detective mode and follow that truck. The driver makes a turn and I trail him into a delivery area behind Best Market (711 E. Jericho Tpke., Huntington Station, 631-470-1200). I snap a photo.
Back at the office, I call Best Market. Yes, they have Gabila’s knishes in the deli department.
But, as I later learn, these are not the fried square knishes. A call to Gabila's Food Products in Copiague reveals the company has been uninterruptedly making round (baked) knishes. And those were the ones being delivered. Stacey Ziskin, executive vice president of Gabila’s said the company is hoping to have the fried square knishes back in production — and out to customers — by the first week in December. Which means that square knish eaters need only endure a couple more weeks without a fix.
