George Martin's Grillfire in Syosset turns on the burners Monday night.
The latest Grillfire succeeds Mim's at the Berry Hill Road location. Its American menu, with steakhouse mainstays, is similar but not exactly like those at the Grillfire branches in Merrick and Rockville Centre.
Expect grilled fish tacos ($12), buttermilk fried chicken wings ($10), chopped salad ($10, $15); the "GM prime burger" ($12), "exclusive blend" Black Jack Burger with candied bacon and cherry peppers on a brioche roll ($15), Cedar River Farms sliced flatiron steak ($27), filet mignon ($30), chicken or beef fajitas ($17, $22), steakhouse Cobb salad with sliced steak ($19), roasted double-cut pork chop ($22), cedar-planked salmon ($24), and macaroni and cheese topped with butter-toasted panko breadcrumb crumble.
The Syosset restaurant is a collaboration between George Korten of the George Martin Restaurant Group and Richard Cutler of Mim's Hospitality. Cutler owns the site.
It will be open every day. Hours are: lunch, Monday to Friday, from 11:30 a.m. to 4 p.m.; brunch Saturday and Sunday from 11:30 a.m. to 4 p.m.; dinner Sunday to Thursday, 4 p.m. to 10 p.m.; and Friday and Saturday, 4 p.m. to 11 p.m.
The George Martin Group includes George Martin "the original," an American-style bistro that opened in 1989 in Rockville Centre; and George Martin's Strip Steak in Great River, which earned a two-and-one-half star rating in Newsday in 2011. There also is a George Martin's Grillfire in Maryland.
