Glen Cove is in the midst of a culinary revival and you can get a taste of it on March 31 at the 27th annual Culinary Delights event. More than 50 establishments from Glen Cove and surrounding towns will gather at The Mansion at Glen Cove, built as an estate for the Pratt family in 1910 and subsequently a supporting player in Hollywood Golden Age movies such as "North by Northwest" and "Sabrina."
Five new eateries will be honored with a "Rising Culinary Star Award": The Marker, Ken Monkan’s new eatery at the Glen Cove Golf Course; the New American, wine-and-cocktail focused Oak & Vine; While in Kathmandu, Long Island’s only Nepali restaurant; Tocolo Cantina, the Glen Cove sibling of Garden City’s modern Mexican restaurant; Scoop N Fruit, making ice cream with real fruit — right in front of you.

Honorees will provide samples of their dishes alongside other recently opened eateries such as Jeanine’s American Bistro, successor to Jeanine di Menna’s The View Grill, Garvies Point Brewery, Mr. Keke Ramen, Foster Restaurant (Sea Cliff), Honey’s Bistro (Glen Head), Schultzy’s (Bayville) and Mahal Indian Cuisine (Roslyn Heights). Then there are the old standbys: La Bussola, El Tazumal, Dominik’s Tacos, Forest Avenue Grill, St. Rocco’s Bakery, Heirloom Tavern (Glen Head), Brass Rail (Locust Valley). There will be live music and raffles.

A portion of the proceeds will benefit local charities and fund the Dr. Glenn Howard Jr. Scholarship for college-bound students. Last year, the event raised more than $4,000 to Nosh Delivers!, a nonprofit food bank.
