The BBQ Nite opens this week for dinner in East Meadow, a halal, Indo-Pak restaurant that has carved out a reputation for the zinger burger — which is actually a chicken sandwich — dressed with veggies and a spicy sauce, served with a side of masala fries.

Friday, May 27, marks the official opening, with lunch and dinner service. The first BBQ Nite opened in Hicksville in 2011, followed by the Elmont location in 2014. The East Meadow location replaces what had been the Pakistani restaurant Shan E Muglia.

BBQ Nite is named for its grilled meats, a variety of kebabs such as behari chicken (with mustard and masala), chicken tikka, seekh (minced meat with spices) and malai (yogurt and garlic chicken). Also on the menu you’ll find a variety of breads, as well as goat korma (braised goat curry), a variation on kati rolls and haleem, a complex and fragrant chicken stew. Prices range from $1 for breads, $2.99 for sandwiches and $6.99 to $8.99 for kebabs.

BBQ Nite in East Meadow will be open Monday to Thursday from 11 a.m. to 10 p.m., Friday to Sunday from 11 a.m. to 11 p.m.
