The last time you carved a pumpkin, you probably didn’t stuff it — or even think to stuff it — with ramen, or pour your favorite beverage in it, right? Well, maybe you didn’t think of it, but the masterminds at some of Long Island niche eateries did. Even Long Island’s breakfast staple got a makeover this month, courtesy of Broadway Gourmet in North Massapequa, which is dyeing and shaping bagels into doughy pumpkins (almost) too pretty to eat.
Here’s more on these three seasonal treats:
Pumpkin Iced Latte
RF | RP — Real Food, Real People — is serving java in real pumpkins. For $13, customers can upgrade their usual pumpkin-flavored latte at the Huntington cafe for this Instagram-worthy creation: a concoction of espresso, milk and vanilla-pumpkin syrup poured into a frozen pumpkin that’s topped with whipped cream, dusted with cinnamon and decorated with cinnamon sticks. In addition to lattes, frozen hot chocolates, mochaccinos and chai beverages can be served in pumpkins, which are brought in from Hanks Pumpkintown in Water Mill, until Nov. 1. Other seasonal treats include its s’mores kit ($35) and its campfire latte (starting at $6), both available through the end of the year. More info: 249 Main St., Huntington; 631-425-7325; rf-rp.com

Pumpkin ramen bowl
On special this month at MB Ramen in Huntington: a carved out and roasted pumpkin stuffed with egg noodles, egg, seaweed, Brussels sprouts and scallions. The broth features chicken stock and coconut milk, while ginger, garlic and onion add additional flavor. The creamy, nearly broth-less bowl also has a little bit of kick. The pumpkin vessel, $19, is available for dine-in only. More info: 335 New York Ave., Huntington; 631-923-3176; mbramenshop.com

Pumpkin bagels
It’s easy enough to find orange and orange-and-black bagels around the Island come this time of year, but Broadway Gourmet in North Massapequa is kicking it up a notch. For the months of Oct. and Nov., the bagel shop and caterer is offering orange-tinted bagels shaped like pumpkins. They’re available for pre-order by the dozen, $36, and must be ordered at least three days in advance. Plain-flavored bagels have been the most popular, but other options are available, too. Pairs best with pumpkin-flavored cream cheese. More info: 893 North Broadway, North Massapequa; 516-797-484; broadwaygourmetcaterers.com
