Healthy Indian restaurant Tiffin Meals opens in East Meadow

Putting a healthy spin on home-style Indian cooking is the new Tiffin Meals in East Meadow. The eatery takes over the former digs of Las Perlas Peruvian Restaurant.
Owner Sujid Kumar said that he uses neither butter nor cream in a repertoire that includes such Indian dishes as paneer pakora (cheese fritters), tandoori chicken, chicken tikka masala, alloo muttar (green peas with potatoes), goat curry and garlic naan. The reasonably priced menu tops out at $15.99 for Goa shrimp.
As the name of the place implies, tiffin boxes (or plastic lunchboxes, each holding six items) are available for local home delivery. There's also table service in the restaurant itself.
