New York's first branch of Maggiano's Little Italy, a national chain known for its Italian-American repertoire and family-style portions, is slated to open a 280-seat branch in early December in Garden City. The restaurant will be situated near (but not within) Roosevelt Field. The chain is under the corporate umbrella of Brinker International, which also owns Chili’s Grill & Bar.

On the menu are such dishes as sausage and peppers, lobster carbonara, spaghetti and meatballs and a “lighter take” fettuccine Alfredo, as well as lasagna and both regular and light chicken Parmesan. Most pastas and entrees are under $20, but the menu goes over the $40 mark for a 16-ounce prime New York steak. Chocolate zuccotto cake, layered with Sambuca mousse, is one of the featured desserts.

The restaurant is on the perimeter road of Roosevelt Field at 600 Garden City Plaza.
