After a six-month renovation, Kotobuki in Roslyn has reopened. The Japanese restaurant made the announcement last Thursday on its Facebook page and, on Friday night, it seemed that most of Roslyn was trying to get in the door.

The renovation was subtle: a new concrete floor, more contemporary furniture and wall treatments. The menu remains the same, an extensive list of sushi and other Japanese dishes.

The house “super special list” includes spicy tuna pizza (crunchy rice and nori crust topped with spicy tuna, crab salad, tobiko, soy mayo and scallions), ¡Tacos Japonese! (chopped salmon, yellowtail and romaine hearts mixed with smoked chipotle mayo in a crispy corn tortilla) and the Viaduct roll (peppered tuna or seared salmon rolled around lobster salad), which was named for the nearby bridge carrying Northern Boulevard.

There are three Kotobukis on Long Island, in Roslyn, Hauppauge and Babylon. Newsday last reviewed the Roslyn restaurant in 2007 and awarded it 2 stars.

Kotobuki is at 1530 Old Northern Blvd., Roslyn, 516-621-5312, kotobukinewyork.com
