For the past 15 years, La Casa Cafe, overlooking Crab Meadow Beach in Northport, used to close in autumn. This year, however, the place is remaining open through the winter and will serve dinner Wednesday to Sunday nights through April 1.
Wednesday and Thursday are pasta nights, where $15.95 ($1.50 extra for gluten-free tortellini and gnocchi) gets you a choice of pasta topped with such options as Bolognese sauce, clam sauce, mushroom sauce or meatballs. A $17.95 Sunday prix-fixe features chicken, fish and eggplant entrees ($1 extra for veal). All prix-fixe deals come with soup, salad, coffee and dessert. Friday, a 16-ounce prime rib (with salad bar but not dessert) goes for $24.95. And a happy hour runs Wednesday to Friday from 4 to 7 p.m. featuring $4 beers and $6 drinks with complimentary appetizers.
