The cuisines of Peru, Colombia, Honduras, El Salvador and Mexico come together under one roof at the new Anaconda Latin Fusion Bistro in Huntington Station.
The restaurant succeeds La Hacienda on New York Avenue and is under the same ownership. Chef-owner Angel Sorto said the place has been entirely renovated.
On the menu: rotisserie-roasted Peruvian-style chicken ($15 half chicken), a Colombian bandeja featuring steak, sausage, pork skin and fried egg ($14), skirt steak fajitas ($16), tacos de lengua, or tongue tacos ($12 for three), camarones al ajillo, or shrimp in garlic sauce ($14) and fried pork chop ($14).
Of course, there are also pupusas ($2.50), or stuffed corn cakes, a specialty of El Salvador, Sorto's place of birth.
Anaconda Latin Fusion Bistro is at 1624 New York Ave., Huntington Station, 631-351-9797.
