Lindt launches Excellence Wasabi Bar dark chocolate
The new Excellence Wasabi Bar dark chocolate from Lindt insults both wasabi and chocolate.
A candy bar arrived at our office from Lindt, to be sampled: Excellence Wasabi Bar dark chocolate.
I had to wonder: Could there be any reason on earth to combine chocolate with wasabi, a root whose flavor is somewhere between horseradish and mustard? But wait, as the label says, this isn’t wasabi but, rather “artificial wasabi flavor.” Further perusal of the ingredient list reveals that the “dark chocolate” has milk fat as a main ingredient and contains a witch's brew of other artificialities.
A small and tentative bite proved worse than expected. Imagine something that looks like chocolate but tastes like a Band-Aid with mustard on it. Better yet, don't.
