While some chains do a good job with coffee, true connoisseurs will want to visit an independent shop that buys beans from all over the world and roasts them on the premises. And whereas most chains use the drip method exclusively, a true coffee shop will offer an array of brewing methods including (but not limited to) drip, pull (as in “pull an espresso”), pour-over, French press and, quickly gaining ground among the caffescenti, AeroPress.
