Graceful Rose, the soaring restaurant on Port Jefferson's waterfront, has closed. Owners Richard and Mary Morrison opened the restaurant in 2012, two years after winning $165 million in the Mega Millions lottery. They named it after Richard's grandmother Grace and mother, Rose.

Richard, a first-time restaurateur, said that he hadn't anticipated the stress of owning a restaurant; Graceful Rose went through seven chefs in three years. "We gave it the best run we could, but I'm getting too old for this stress."

The Morrisons are in the process of selling the property to a new ownership team. Plans are afoot to transform the restaurant into a catering facility, Harbor Social, that will host parties and events and also provide off-premise catering.
