Long Island restaurants: New reviews
In this week’s Newsday, Peter M. Gianotti reviews the updated H2O Seafood & Sushi in Smithtown. “Under chef Wayne Cafariella,” he writes, “it seems fresh and new.” There’s an expanded sushi menu (and renovated sushi bar), but the cooked food, including hazelnut-Parmesan-crusted swordfish and “everything”-crusted tuna shines as well.
Joan Reminick visits Crazy Beans, the new Stony Brook spinoff of the Miller Place original. “Over-the-top comfort fare” is what the breakfast and lunch spot does best. “Witness the irresistible pulled pork panino, a rich confluence of pork, pepper jack cheese, fried pickles, coleslaw and a spicy Cajun sauce on grilled sourdough.”
