Sunday brunch is the refuge of the late sleeper. It’s a time to kick back over drinks and comfort foods and while away the better part of an afternoon.
One of these three places may have just that kind of brunch for you.
STORYVILLE AMERICAN TABLE, 43 Green St., Huntington; 631-351-3446, storyvilleamericantable.com
A fixed-price buffet brunch, at $27.95, features an omelet station and a waffle station. You can also order off the regular lunch and dinner menus. Seatings from 11 a.m. to 12:30 p.m., 12:30 to 2 p.m. and 2 to 3:30 p.m. Reservations are recommended.
SCHOUT BAY TAVERN, 118 Plandome Rd., Manhasset; 516-627-2190, schoutbaytavern.com
At this attractive newcomer, Sunday brunch runs from 11:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. Top dish on the menu is avocado toast, featuring toasted bread topped with mashed avocado, smoked salmon, red onion, frisee and a poached egg. Other interesting choices, too.
BOSPHORUS CAFE GRILL, 138 Shore Rd., Port Washington; 516-321-9999, bosphoruscafegrill.com
For a break from the everyday, consider this Turkish Sunday brunch, served from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Options include such dishes as pan-fried eggs with roasted lamb, mucver (zucchini pancakes) and menemen, or scrambled eggs with peppers, tomatoes and spices.
