LongHorn Steakhouse, a moderately priced spot for beef and more, is slated to open its first Long Island branch on Election Day, Nov. 6.

LongHorn is a chain with about 500 restaurants spread across 41 states. It's part of Darden Restaurants, the Florida-based company that also includes The Capital Grille, a high-end steakhouse, which has a branch in Garden City; Seasons 52, a New American eatery, also in Garden City; and Olive Garden branches.

The Farmingdale steakhouse is set to open at 3 p.m. LongHorn specializes in eight cuts of steak, from flat iron to T-bone. Prices for the steaks range from $12.99 to $29.99.

Currently, the closest LongHorn Steakhouse to Nassau and Suffolk is situated in Elmhurst, Queens.

In addition to steaks, LongHorn's menu takes in prime rib, burgers, a fried chicken breast sandwich, Parmesan-crusted chicken, grilled shrimp, baby back ribs, salmon, chili, Caesar salad, onion soup, potato soup, and shrimp-and-lobster chowder. Lunch combinations typically are less than $10.

The Farmingdale restaurant is expected to seat more than 200 diners. It's under construction on the west side of Broadhollow Road, near Republic Airport and diagonally across from Courtyard by Marriott. The address is 1000 Broadhollow Rd., longhornsteakhouse.com
