Loud and clear in Manhasset
I don’t know about you, but a noisy restaurant can ruin a meal for me. Even when I’m eating a fantastic warm, mixed-mushroom salad, or a fresh pasta pomodoro, like I was last night at Cipollini in the Americana Manhasset. Even when I can feast my eyes on all the Versace and Prada skinny jeans and slinky heels worn by my fellow (female) diners.
The warm weather has brought the crowds and, dressed to kill in their new spring outfits, everyone is jabbering away at full volume. (Not that Cipollini was any quieter when I came during the winter.) This is truly a see-and-be-seen restaurant, and the table hopping and cheek kiss-kissing is nonstop.
I would have loved to have actually heard the words when my husband said “happy anniversary” and “we’ve had it so good for so many years.”
I asked my fellow FeedMe bloggers which Long Island restaurant each finds the most noisy:
1. Peter Gianotti: Kotobuki in Roslyn, by far, he says.
2. Joan Reminick: Dodici in Rockville Centre, although she says the food is worth going for, but wear earplugs.
3. Erica Marcus: Four Food Studio and Cocktail Salon in Melville, which she will only visit for lunch.
