Huntington's Main Street Nursery farmers market to showcase local food
The farmers market coming to Huntington’s Main Street Nursery this Saturday might be better described as “food festival featuring some of Huntington’s finest purveyors,” so flush is this event with local talent.
The 47-year-old nursery-florist is already a great fall destination with pumpkins, mums and ornamental cabbages for sale, a hay maze to get lost in, and a shop full of seasonal accents. This year, the owners decided to up the ante by adding food and drink to the mix.
Fiorello Dolce will be on hand with croissants, brownies and cookies; Duck Island Bread Company will bring freshly baked loaves; The Town Cheesemonger will showcase a selection of artisanal cheeses; Mello Munch will offer granola and Barkfield Road will make sure that your dog doesn’t go hungry either.
Jolts will be supplied by Southdown Coffee, after which you can take the edge off with suds from the Rust & Gold beer truck or Springbrook Hollow Farm Distillery. Also on hand: Om Organics fresh juice, Raspberry Ridge Farm honey and lavender, Krystal Fruits & Vegetables.
One of the Baldanza Brothers from Mr. Sausage will be demonstrating how to make fresh mozzarella throughout the day.
The event runs from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Oct. 15.
