New, casual and Asian in Lake Grove: Wild Rice

I came dangerously close to driving right past Wild Rice, a cool and contemporary-looking takeout/eat-in spot with Chinese and Thai food. The place is nearly hidden from street view, its entry facing the rear parking lot of a strip mall.

I pulled in to have a look and grab the menu; the costliest item was $11.95. What intrigued me wasn’t so much the cold sesame noodles, the kung pao chicken or the Thai cashew shrimp. No, my eye traveled immediately to the roster of meal-sized noodle soups.

Right now, I'm planning a visit to Lake Grove for a bowl of roast pork mei fun noodle soup. And/or seafood egg noodle soup. Maybe also chicken dumpling noodle soup. In fact, there are 14 soups ($6.95-$7.50) from which to choose. Lots to think about.
