The Original Di Maggio’s has been a fixture in Port Washington for the past 33 years. Now, the Italian restaurant has opened a branch in Smithtown on the site once occupied by Villa D'Avanzo.
In terms of the restaurant's menu, co-owner Eddie Marinelli said, the new place is “a carbon copy” of the original. Its interior has a similar casual look — some booths, some tables. There’s also an outdoor patio with colorful orange umbrellas.
On the menu: personal-sized pizzas ($7.25 to $11.95), linguine with white clam sauce ($15.95) and chicken scarpariello ($14.50). And every kind of Parmigiana — $13.95 for eggplant or chicken, $15.95 for veal, $19.95 for shrimp.
“We’re trying to fill a niche,” said Marinelli.
Di Maggio’s Trattoria and Bar is at 1012 Jericho Tpke., Smithtown, 631-543-6000.
