Getting through the cold weather may get a bit easier, thanks to a series of winter wine dinners at VIEW in Oakdale. The first one will be Friday, Jan. 28, at 7 p.m. and features a five-course menu with wine pairings at $75 a person.

The evening will kick off with a cocktail half-hour. Then, the following menu:

FIRST COURSE
Yellow Fin Tuna Carpaccio
Foie Gras / Chives / Tuscan Preserved Lemon
Dalila Grillo/Viognier Blend

SECOND COURSE
Butternut Squash Agnolotti
Mushrooms / Pancetta / Fennel Cream
