Open in Bellmore: Jen's Chinese Food

New to Bellmore is Jen's Chinese Food & Catering, something between a takeout spot and a full-fledged restaurant. This is the second venue from caterer Jen Li, who also has a place in Massapequa.

I stopped in for lunch and found most of the tables occupied.  Although a waitress came to take my order, tea was served in Styrofoam cups. A big bowl of roast pork noodle soup (ordered with chow fun noodles) featured lovely pieces of pork with bright vegetables (carrots, broccoli, bok choy, zucchini and snow peas). Still, I found myself wishing there had been baby bok choy alone. And a tad more flavor in the broth.
