Feeling blue since Red Dish in Commack closed this past spring? Cheer up. The former owners just opened a new place in East Islip, Jackson Hall American Bar & Grille. It occupies the very dark space that used to house JD Page’s and before that, Coopersmith’s. Newly remodeled, it now has French doors in front and windows on the side.
Chef John Pellegrino’s New American menu features items like Thai calamari salad, Neapolitan pizza, burgers, grilled vegetable wrap, seafood mac and cheese, meat loaf and sesame seared tuna. There's also a roster of gluten-free dishes.
Lunch will kick in on Friday, brunch sometime in the near future.
