Open in Garden City: Spuntino Wine Bar & Italian Tapas

Spuntino Wine Bar & Italian Tapas has opened at The Gallery at Westbury Plaza in Garden City.  The second branch of a Clifton, New Jersey, restaurant — and the first to hit Long Island — is situated next to Noodles & Company.

The 140-seat enoteca is decorated with an industrial motif inspired by New York City train stations of the 1920s. It serves more than 150 wines by the bottle and 40-plus by the glass. On a menu dominated by small plates are cured meats and cheeses ($6 each, 3 for $17), grilled shrimp scampi bruschetta ($7), charred octopus ($11), prosciutto and arugula pizza ($12) and spaghetti alla carbonara ($9). There are only four large plates (designed to be shared), among them grilled chicken ($20) and a Tuscan bone-in strip steak ($29).
