Open in Glen Cove: Sid’s All American

Sid’s All American, a classic burger-and-ice-cream stand, has taken over the Glen Cove spot that was, most recently, Philly’s & Cream. (Earlier incarnations include Juicy Burger & Ice Cream Joint and Cove Ice Cream & Grill.)

Philly’s & Cream specialized in Philadelphia-style cheesesteaks, though the menu also included  burgers, hot dogs, sandwiches and ice cream. Sid’s, under the same ownership, has relegated the cheesesteaks to the bottom of the menu. There are also fried or grilled chicken sandwiches, hot dogs, “finger food” (including frosted-flake chicken fingers), salads and ice cream, hard and soft.

Burgers start at $3.50 for a plain single patty; chicken sandwiches are $4.95, cheesesteaks are $8.25, a scoop of ice cream is $2.25.
