Crazy Beans, a coffeehouse and eatery in Miller Place, just spawned a new Stony Brook branch. It occupies the Stony Brook Village space that last housed Golden Pear Cafe.
Callie Brennan, who owns the original, opened the Stony Brook place in partnership with her fiancé, Timothy Martino, who is also the chef. Brennan said the Stony Brook space is bigger than the Miller Place locale and also offers table service. Eat at a table, counter or diner-style booth.
On the menu: crabcakes eggs Benedict ($14.95), chicken and waffles ($14.95), a pulled pork panini ($10.95), the chicken salad of the day, in a wrap or on bread ($8.95) and a candied nuts salad ($8.95).
Currently, Crazy Beans is open from 6:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. — and sometimes a little later — serving breakfast and lunch.
Brennan and Martino are still awaiting their liquor license.
Crazy Beans is at 97A Main St., Stony Brook, 631-675-6964.
