Ciro's Pizzeria & Restaurant dates to 1975. Its pizzas definitely cover 40 years.

In addition to all the standards, from Neapolitan to Sicilian and Margherita to Grandma, Ciro's plays mix and match with some of Long Island's favorite food groups.

Enter the chicken Parmigiana pizza.

In this two-way pie, breaded and fried chicken cutlets are cut into postage-stamp size pieces and added to a thin-crust pizza, along with good red sauce and plenty of mozzarella. The result is hefty and flavorful, and enough to feed the whole Little League baseball team's starting lineup. The chicken-cutlet pizza is $25.

If this doesn't seem like absolute perfection to you, consider another Ciro's production: the ravioli pizza.

Yes, cheese ravioli are the topping. You pick the sauce. At the risk of heresy, sample yours with Alfredo-style cream sauce. The pie becomes a major white pizza, with a pasta course included. The ravioli pizza is $27.
