There are lots of reasons to stop at Cugini Pizzeria & Restaurant. Just count toppings and styles.
But once you're done with the BBQ chicken and Buffalo chicken versions, the basic Margherita and the husky Sicilian, try the white pie.
This is a very good union of mozzarella, ricotta and pecorino cheeses — creamy, mellow and rich, with a tasty crust, much better than most renditions of the basic bianca.
When you do order it, you'll be advised that you can have some marinara sauce on the side, just in case. That sauce is good, too, as are the house's lasagna and other baked pastas, plus penne with olive oil, garlic and broccoli rabe.
There are two branches of Cugini. The Plainview eatery is at 1048 Old Country Rd.; 516-931-3910. In Mineola, Cugini is at 432 Jericho Tpke.; 516-248-7770.
