Popular breakfast restaurant Brownstones Coffee in Amityville closed by fire

Fire has shuttered Brownstones Coffee, a popular breakfast and lunch spot on Merrick Road in Amityville. A Facebook post dated Sunday, Aug. 2, outlined the situation:
"Brownstones Coffee in Amityville has suffered a devastating fire. We are very thankful that everyone is ok. We are truly blessed to have such an outpouring of support from our community and customers. Rest assured, we will rebuild and reopen as soon as possible!"
And we will keep an eye out for a reopening.
