Premier Diner, Commack, closed for 4-day renovation
In the restaurant world, a sign reading “Closed for renovations” often means “Sayonara — outta here.” Such is not the case, however, at Commack’s Premier Diner, which shut down today for a brief cosmetic overhaul..
Although the place is only seven years old, the upholstery and booths were worn and needed replacing, according to co-owner Helen Georgatos. The mostly lime green art glass light fixtures will stay, providing a color scheme for the makeover.
Known for its creative breakfast menu, the diner is scheduled to reopen Friday with new furnishings throughout. Even so, given the value of most contractor's time estimates, I'd call and check before making a Swedish pancake or baked oatmeal run.
Premier Diner is at 690 Commack Rd., Commack, 631-462-1432.
