What sets this gleaming new diner apart from most of the genre is a creative and well-executed breakfast menu. Co-owner Helen Georgatos offers a regularly-changing menu insert that showcases her imaginative thinking. Baked oatmeal is one way to start the morning on the right note. Pancakes -- plain, Swedisn, fruit-filled or whole wheat -- are never heavy. Omelets are light and yet substantial.
For lunch, there are hefty sandwiches and char-grilled burgers. Salads are generous and colorful. The dinner menu, as is typical of most diners, offers an almost endless array of choices.
This is an ideal stopping-off place for those en route to the Hamptons. And if there is a wait for a table, there's good reason why.
