Prime in Huntington loses chef
Gregg Lauletta, who ran the kitchen at Prime American Kitchen & Bar since 2008, has left the restaurant.
The sprawling waterfront eatery, which earned three stars from Newsday for its steak and seafood, is operated by the Bohlsen Group, which also owns Tellers and Verace in Islip, H2O in Smithtown and Monsoon in Babylon. The group’s corporate executive chef, James McDevitt, is overseeing Prime’s kitchen for the time being. A new executive chef will be named in the future.
McDevitt himself earned 3½ stars when he was the chef at the late, lamented Two Steak & Sushi in New Hyde Park, so now might be a good time to stop by Prime.
Prime is at 117 New York Ave. Huntington, NY 631-385-1515, primerestaurantlongisland.com.
